Memory & Experience
A fine line separates memory from experience. The very moment an event happens it becomes memory.
Experiences throughout the day are stored in our memory, however we can't recall everything we experience. Things get lost and jumbled in the fog of memory. Intensity of the experience determines how easy it is to recall. These two bodies of work explore the process of memory and it’s relationship to experience.
Interventions
Modern life is getting faster and faster. We work longer and find ourselves with less time for recreation and relaxation. As a result an industry of convenience has emerged to meet this need; drive through banks, fast food delivery, online banking, etc. Along with convenience there's a growing societal desire for assurances of public safety. These bodies of work examine society's response to these trends by examining interventions of convenience and security that have been appearing in our places of liesure; our public parklands.
